The catalog of natural earthquakes in Poland

The catalog of natural earthquakes in Poland covers the years 1496-2013. The catalog is a complete set of tectonic events. It is a collection of historical accounts, seismological bulletins of the Institute of Geophysics Polish Academy of Sciences (IG PAS), and a local seismicity measurement campaign in selected regions of Poland led in 2008-2012 by the IG PAS. The analysis of historical materials was performed by Barbara Guterch (2009). The list of seismicity presented in the seismological bulletins was prepared during seismic monitoring by the Polish Seismological Network (PLSN). The local monitoring in selected regions of Poland was carried out by the IG PAS in the project Monitoring of Seismic Hazard of Territory of Poland (Trojanowski et al. 2012, 2015) and included in the catalog of natural events in Poland.

The presented catalog has been verified in available world sources: GFU (2012), CENEC (Grünthal i in., 2009), BGR (2008; 2012), EMSC (2012), NEIC (2012), ESI SAS (2004), Leydecker (2009), Van Gilis i Leydecker (1991), Shebalib i Leydecker (1997), Shebalin i in. (1998), Sharov i in. (2007).

Currently, seismic monitoring in Poland is carried out by the PLSN seismological network run by IG PAS and the PSG_Sejs_NET seismological network run by the Polish Geological Institute - National Research Institute in cooperation with IG PAS (https://www.pgi.gov.pl/mogepl-home/projekty.html).
